You all have been following along with my house selling saga, so I thought you might enjoy some pics of our extra bathroom rehab. Who doesn't like a before and after, right? This is a bathroom that's on our upper level, made for the kids. My kiddo uses the other guest bath because it's right by his room. So this one doesn't get much love. Which is why we let it sit, ugly, for years. However, now that the house is going on the market, we needed it to look move-in ready. If this was our forever house, I would have splurged on a pretty double vanity, beadboard and moldings, etc., but in this case, we were going for what was in the budget and looked nice.
Before, with horrid, peeling particle board/laminate vanity, cracked terra cotta-ish tiles, and the ever-popular 80's vanity lighting. I'm not a fan of the big mirror, personally, but had to leave it, alas.
Refreshed:
Have a great day!
Great job! Very sell-worthy!
ReplyDeleteThanks WMM! :)
DeleteThe bathroom looks lovely. A good friend of mine, faced with the big mirror problem framed her mirror edges with dimensional edge tile in the same stone as her wall tile. It made the mirror look built in, and now I am sorry that I removed the one in my house, because it is such a custom look. Your bathroom choices are very fresh and soothing. They will help sell your home.
ReplyDeleteThanks, yes, I saw something like that on Pinterest, as well as using some molding to create your own frame. Definitely a great idea!
DeleteWow that's amazing! Of course you chose wonderful finishes and that stripey shower curtain is really fresh.
ReplyDeleteThanks for the kind mention M! I hope you are enjoying your Sunday.
Thanks Dani! It looks fresh and new and good for kids. I thought about going with a neutral curtain, which would be my preference, but this one read more "kids bath" to me. :)
DeleteCan't wait to see what your tailor does with the dresses Dani! I'm going to be heading to mine soon with several items I'm not ready to give up on.
I thing you did a great job and from my experience I'd selling 3 houses those kind of cheap easy fixes offer biggest ROI. Good luck!
ReplyDeleteThanks ajc! I agree that it makes a huge difference in selling, as opposed to leaving it and someone coming in and saying, ugh, I have to re-do that. At least this is something they can live with and move into. :)
DeleteWe have one of those big ugly mirrors and just put some wide wood molding around it. So much better! I love your new bathroom! Ugh, what were people thinking in the 70's and 80's?
ReplyDeleteI think the molding would be a perfect addition. Hm, maybe a weekend project. :) 70's and 80's were baaaad. Wonder what we'll say about this time period 30 years from now?
