j.crew sale reviews: cashmere purl-stitch snood and glittens

Hi everyone!

Just when I thought I was being good trying to resist the J.Crew sale, 40% (online) and 50% (in stores) promos have to come along and git me. I always start out with many, many items in my cart, and then I pull up my online wishlist (via Polyvore) to keep me in line. The wishlist is solid, and I've pruned away at it diligently. I don't want to buy sale just to buy sale. Especially when final sale is involved! I'm a bit lucky in that I've tried on soooo many things, that I'm quite certain about sizing and such. (Not that they haven't had their quality issues, but I return if it's a quality issue.)

Anyway, several items on my wishlist did make it all the way to this amazing sale, and I feel quite happy with the price paid for them all. Normally I like to think that if it's something I truly want, I should be ok with paying full price. Sorry, not in the case of some of J.Crew's over-inflated pricing. :)

I'm in a rush this morning, and since it's insanely freezing outside, I'll share the Collection Purl-stitch Snood and Cashmere Glittens in heather flax.  The snood was crazy-high in price to start, but this color is my hands-down favorite. It's the color to which I'm always drawn and for which I will always reach. The snood is big and cozy and I could probably wear it with just a heavy sweater and be warm enough. Love it.  The texture is a nice touch.  The glittens are going to replace my (mixed-material) JC glittens from a year (or two?) ago. Loved those, but they've snagged and don't have the mitten-topper option. I'm sooo happy with these. I wasn't expecting it, but the cashmere is super thick and cozy and soft. IMO, well worth the current promo price. I have super sensitive hands/wrists when it comes to gloves, and usually hate them all, but these I wore in the bitter cold and they didn't bother me as much as other materials do.  Plus, they're so cute. :)

Have you succumbed to the sale? I'll try to get some more Collection sale reviews up by tomorrow!

Have a great day!

    1. Hi Laura! Ooh, that's a fun score on the jeweled collar blazer. My store didn't carry that one, so I never saw it IRL.

  2. hope you don't mind me asking, but how much was the snood? Not that it matters b/c it appears to be sold out online, and I'm not sure I have the gumption to try to track one down myself. But if the price is right.....lol!

    1. Hi there! I believe it was maybe $169 before discount? So, still pretty dang pricey. I think I'll have to wear it every day to justify! :)

  3. Hey, girl. Glad I wasn't alone in grabbing the purl stitch snood. If your readers want to see it in the heather grey shade, I wore it with an outfit that I showed off in the last Boden Weekly Review Roundup. It is really big, isn't it? I was shocked by its size!

    1. Love that heather grey! I know, it didn't occur to me to actually measure it out, ha. But I love that it's so big really, and it's so soft. I don't know if I'll ever take it off. :)
