Whew, I had quite a few things to look through in my recent promo boxes. Lots of returns, alas, but at least my curiosity is sated, and no final sale risks, right? The biggest surprise was that instead of my elephant necklace popback, I received...someone's wedding dress! Um, wth? How did someone not catch this? I seriously hope there isn't some bride freaking out about her missing dress right now. And no, I didn't try it on. :) I just gently put it in the return pile. They should take a note from Land's End -- I can always clearly see an handwritten checkmark next to each item to ensure it's correct.
One of the pieces I added last minute was the new Lace-printed Sweatshirt. I ordered a small, and think I could have used an XS in this one. I don't mind a little slouch in a sweatshirt, but this one feels like it needs to be closer to the body, so I might re-try in the XS. I really like the lace-print in the ivory/black and think it could be very versatile. I think long sleeves might have been a better choice for winter, but they're not super short at least. It's substantial enough, and doesn't feel like it would fall apart in the wash (though who knows). I do like it, but I'm not sure I should keep it, even at the discount, as I do have a lot of cute sweatshirts already.

BTW, it's BOGO holiday drink at Starbucks from 2-5pm starting today through the 18th! If only they'd do this in the morning -- can you imagine the stampede?

ReplyDeleteI'm not thrilled with the sweatshirt. I definitely think a smaller size would be better on you. I also agree with your opinion on the sleeves. Long would be better, the half sleeves make it look unfinished. The black on white seems a little garish to me for casual wear. I'd like this shirt much more if the lace was more subtle. It is cute on you, but I'd pass on it.
I should get my LOTF tees today, so I'm excited for those.
On an unrelated note, did you ever get the Boden Scoop Tunic Dress? I was wondering what your thoughts on it were.

Yes, I did! I actually just wore it today. I got the 4T (I usually wear a 6) and it's perfect actually. Fits just right in the bust (though not a lot of spare room there, I'm a 34b) and the length is fine as a dress, though above knee, and I even feel fine wearing it as a tunic over leggings w/boots. I got the Westminster print and love it!
I quite like this sweatshirt on you! I cannot believe they sent you a wedding dress! that happened to me earlier this year (wrong item, not getting a wedding dress!) and I was so surprised!

After you posted that, I did call to check and they said it was just a ship error, not something designated for another person, so whew! Glad there's not a bride freaking out somewhere!
DeleteI love the sweatshirt on you. ITA about sizing down. Mine was best in Small so I think you may need XS, it will probably fit you better. I would only worry that it may be too short then.

DeleteI ordered this sweatshirt too, and I like it better in your pictures than irl. I'm guessing it's the ivory color that makes it feel too 'antique' looking. It's just not an item I see myself reaching for.
