talbots pink maxi dress review.

I popped in and out of Talbots the other day, and had time to try on a cute maxi dress I saw hanging up, called the Cocktail Paisley Tiered Dress:

They also have it in really pretty solid colors:

They only had a size 8, and I normally wear a size 6 in their dresses and skirts, but saw that it had a tie-back that I could cinch. 

The neckline is modest enough and the length was good for me (5'5"). I thought the pink was really pretty though I think I'd prefer a solid color.  There was a size zip, so it was easy to get in and out. It was a nice light cotton voile, but not at all see-through. I didn't love the tie-back, as for some reason it make me think of Laura Ingalls/Laura Ashley/sister-wife.  I think if you wore a statement necklace or some big arm candy, it could be styled up a bit.
It's full price at $139, and they are currently offering 25% off all FP dresses and skirts (and all markdown dresses for $49.99). If I'd have had enough time, I might have tried these other pretties that looks lovely IRL:

Trellis Lace Dress -- This looks gorgeous and well made in person, though I personally don't have the events/social scene for which to wear it. (As you obviously can't wear it to a wedding!) Would be so pretty for a rehearsal dinner dress or a more casual wedding.

Yacht-Stripe Dress -- I held it up and it didn't look nearly as poofy as it looks online, fyi. Still love the pink/orange combo.

The colors looked really bright and pretty in the store. Oh, and there was a nice little bangle set of three -- I liked the emerald/yellow and pink/orange. Three for $39, not bad at all.

I think I might have to go back and try on some more things there. Will report back!
