old navy reviews: gauze sunstitched sundress, embroidered mexicali tank.

Hello everyone!

Let's step off the J.Crew train for a day, shall we? Sorry, it's been totally non-stop and I'm going to try to lay off the sauce until fall rollouts. I do have some more reviews, which I'll share before summer stuff is gonzo.

Today, let's check out a couple cute Old Navy sale items. I went in to return something and get my son some socks (I totally just realized his socks are like 2 sizes too small! Although right now all he wears are crocs.).   I'm sure it doesn't shock to you to know I found myself on the women's side afterwards. ;)

There's a promo going on right now: 15% off (or 20% off using a Gap family card --wish JC would do something like this as a cardholder per!), with code ONSUNSHINE. You can print out an in-store coupon online as well.

Gauze Sunstitched Sundress -- This was on clearance at my store for $9.99.  The bright pink with navy embroidery looks to be sold out online, but that's the one that caught my eye. This isn't normally something I'd gravitate toward, but the colors got me. Also, it was 92 degrees and 100% cotton gauze looked cool and comfy. lol. I grabbed a small without even trying it on, just eyeballing it. I'm comfortable with the size, though an XS might have been a little more fitted in the waist (and possibly shorter). The reviews say it runs huge, but I'm not really seeing that. It's supposed to be blousy, but maybe they got weird ones? Not sure. It's cuter belted. It has a cotton lining (body, not sleeves), so it's not see-through, at least not in this color.

I also grabbed this Embroidered Mexicali Tank in a really pretty pink/mint green colorway that's not showing up online. The colors are what caught my eye and are a really great combo. It pairs well with the J.Crew spearmint Mini in Double-serge Cotton (on promo right now. I've re-ordered a size up for a better fit and to wear a touch lower. This is the smaller size before I re-ordered, 4). The tank is $14 online right now before discount. I took a small in this one as well. It's definitely a mini!

My final purchase was a re-buy of the pink/oatmeal striped Fold-over Jersey Skirt. It was on clearance for $10.99. See my original review of this skirt here.

Any Old Navy purchases for you with this sale or lately?

Have a wonderful day!

  2. I can't get into the Mexicali stuff. It looks cute online, though. I do like that stripe skirt & passed it over. I figured the white/navy chevron one was enough and easier to style. It's sooo cute in the pink/oatmeal, though. :)

    1. I really never go for it either, so I'm not sure why these appealed to me so much, lol. The navy/white one will be easier to style for sure. I'm pretty much going to be wearing my with a white tank/tee or a swimsuit, ha.
