an A+ mother's day.

Hello everyone!

Happy mother's day to you all! I love this day of recognition for all the moms, grandmothers and women who serve in a mother role. Those ladies who work hard, every day, to bring up their children the best that they can.


I was originally going to write this up as I enjoyed some lovely breakfast in bed this morning. A time-honored tradition that we prepared for our mothers as well. But, well, it was just too relaxing and I couldn't muster it up. Instead, I enjoyed my eggs while watching a couple dvr'd Veronica Mars. (Did y'all love this show too? They've been playing the whole series and it's so fun to re-watch b/c I completely forgot what all happens.

I then received an adorable handmade card from DS, as well as a hilarious card from the hubs and the Sunlit Sequin Tank and a pretty bangle (J.Crew). Love that he picked me something he loved from my fave store! :)

I pulled on a casual outfit that felt cheery. An Old Navy sunny yellow pullover and the J.Crew factory bubble necklace in turquoise, along with my topiary Viv flats. First blurry pic is compliments of my 4-year-old, who tried really hard to snap a winner.

Here you can see the Factory Bubble Necklace up close. It's not the original, but it's still cute and a bit smaller, which is a bit more wearable for me.

My day then moved to a delicious lunch out with husband and son. We went to a restaurant at the outdoor mall, as it was sunny and beautiful out.  Upon our arrival, we saw a little flower stand where Vera Bradley had set up a traveling stand to give away flower bouquets to mom, as well as a coupon for a free photo album. How fun is that?

After a giant burger and chocolate shake, my dear ones headed home and I had a bit of solo mall wandering. Hooray!
After hitting up Vera to thank them for the lovely bouquet, I was thrilled to see a brand new store across the way -- Henri Bendel (accessories)!! Hello pretties! I seriously wanted to take home every little purse, bangle and earring I saw. They were have a 20% off $100 in store (and online too, use code TAN), which was lovely. Their jewelry pieces and accessories are fairly affordable, in case you haven't ever perused.

Hello new friends...

We just spent the late afternoon enjoying gorgeous weather out in our backyard, tossing pitches to the little one and our neighbor's kids, and enjoying a little beverage or two.

Tonight we are ordering in a Thai feast for dinner. Sounds heavenly, doesn't it? I give this an A+ day.
