Wow, so let's take a break from J.Crew all.the.time, and see what new things Talbots has rolled out. I saw some very cute items that I'll want to check out in person.
Silk Paisley Shirtdress -- Classic style, very fun colorway, pretty goldtone buttons.
Yacht-Stripe Dress -- Ok, so this might be a little too cocktails at our mansion on Cape Cod, but it's fun. Check it out in the pink/orange colorway.
Sangria Stripe Ponte Dress -- A bit Lilly P, no? On backorder already, but probably in stores. Cute.
Striped Ponte Knit Jacket -- Striped blazers are certainly nothing new, but if the fit is nice, it could be a winner. Nice starting point of $89.50.
Piped Seersucker Jacket -- So cute!
Nautical-Stripe Sweater Jacket -- More stripes anyone?
Nautical Dot Jacket -- Or dots? Love this one.
Delave Linen Full Skirt -- Cute, classic, flattering.
Bejeweled Sailor Stripe Top -- So nautical is the thing, right? lol. This is pretty though.
Stripe Linen Bateau Sweater -- I can see this could be cute styled the right way.
Cindy Colorblocked Patent Flat -- Talbots shoes run TTS, to sometimes even slightly big, fyi.
Calli Patent Leather Capri Sandals -- Lots of nice bright colors, easy wedge.
Lilli Peep-toe Patent & Raffia Bow Wedge -- Ack, love! Pretty in blue, plus black and sand. Wish they'd done a bit of a platform or a touch less height, but it's darling.
Starla Wrap-strap Suede Espadrille -- Hard to find cute navy sandals and these fit the bill.
Patent and Raffia Tote -- To match the espadrilles. ;)

I received the catalog yesterday and I was surprised at how many things actually picked up my interest, that hasn't happened in a loooong time. In particular the seersucker halter dress and skirt. I am almost tempted to go to a store and see in person/try on. Also love that pink/navy striped popover but it could be a little too of a heavy knit for our spring weather.

DeleteI was beginning to think that Talbots had changed for the worse but then I received the catalog in the mail yesterday. My opinion has changed back to they have cute things again.
ReplyDeleteThey definitely lost some appeal over the fall/winter season for me, but these spring items have me interested again as well.
DeleteI totally agree with you. Have to take a break from J Crew(for a few days, maybe!). Received the Talbot catalogue yesterday in the mail and have been flipping. Started off with one page corner folded then found my catalogue full of folded corners. A lot of cute things. Love the colorblock patent flats especially. And all the stripes, oh my my. Love the bateau sweater. Isn't it cute? That pink is just so stunning. Waiting for a promo and for sure bite.
ReplyDeleteJC break much needed! (Oops, although today is the maybe/maybe not sale in stores. So I might need to check it out.) I did the same thing, with all the folded corners! Luckily they do some great full price promos pretty regularly!
DeleteUnrelated question: M, What size is your Boardwalk Stripe Tee? I love the way you layer it over your gingham shirt, and I'm curious whether it fits well unlayered as well. Any info would be appreciated!
ReplyDeleteIt's a small, so it's a roomier tee and lets me still layer over the gingham w/o it looking super bulky. Still fits unlayered! Its' a super cute top, I recommend it. :)

DeleteI am very pleased with Talbots these days. Their pencil skirts work much better for me because I can try on the petite sizing in store and have found the quality has gone up in many of their items!! I love the catalog that just came out, planning a trip in soon to see in person. Thank you so much for posting this
ReplyDeleteThat's definitely one of the best things about them, that you can try on petite and woman sizing in stores. That's just so helpful IMO and shows that they really want to help out their customers. Let me know if you try out anything you love!
DeleteSome cute things there! I got the catalog a few days ago but haven't had the time to look through it yet. Last time I was in Talbots it looked it was reverting back to grandma's closet and I almost gave up on them.
ReplyDeleteThanks for the preview. I haven't had a chance to look at their catalog. I wore my button back wool top the other day and loved it! They're very fluid & responsive to their customers, so back to matronly they go...but I will keep looking because there are still some cute things.
