boden linen maxi skirt review.

I have been watching the linen Maxi Skirt since its debut, in virtually ever colorway (white, tan, aqua, navy), but the full price was just too much for me.  When they went on sale with free ship/returns, I bit. They are still on sale, with two colors 25% off and two of them 35% off.

After reading the reviews, and hemming and hawing over which length to choose (some felt it was too short, some just right, etc. etc.), I decided I didn't want the light-colored fabric anywhere near the ground. So I went with the regular length vs. long.  I'm 5'5" and it's a perfect length. If you're taller, you may need to go with long.

The skirt is 100% linen, so it will of course be wrinkled, and continue to wrinkle as you wear it. This is the charm of linen, and if you're OCD in the way of wrinkling, you don't want this skirt. ;) However, it is fully lined (in cotton, love! breathable to the max! ignore the reviewer talking about a heavy lining!), and that might deter a bit of the wrinkle.

I went with a size 6R, as I didn't want there to be any chance of tightness at the waist. (I wear a 4 J.Crew pencil skirt if that helps).  The fit is spot on and very comfortable. It hits at my waist, maybe a little bit lower. Not in a weird mummy-type place though. It has a bit of swing and material to comfortable walk around, without it looking matronly.

Is the white see-through? No, not if you're wearing the proper color (nude) undergarments.

Here it is on me:

I foresee wearing it with tank/sleeveless tops in neutrals the most, with strappy flat sandals. A few Polyvore set ideas:
