old navy 25% off & some reviews!

Hello everyone,

Old Navy is having a promo today only for 25% off everything with code ONSPRING (free ship on $50+) I walked in the other day again, and it was all spring color everywhere.   Some reviews below, and also check out other recent reviews here and here.

Embroidered Chambray Dress -- This one reminded me a whole lot of an Anthro dress from last year in a similar shape with beading. Do you remember the one I mean? I'm blanking on the name.  Anyway, it looked cute. I like that it's 100% cotton. I didn't have a chance to try it on, but wanted to snap a pic.

Foldover Jersey Skirt

This comes in a both solid colors and stripes. I only saw the navy/white and a pink/oatmeal stripe in my store. The navy/white looked cheap for some reason to me, but the pink one was actually pretty darn cute. It's really bright, akin to J.Crew's neon azalea. Something to wear to the pool or errands pretty much, for me. I would have loved if they didn't have the huge foldover thing, b/c I can never figure out a great way to wear it (Except over a swimsuit, ha). You could tuck in a tee/tank, but that feels too weird and formal, unless you have a cardi over it. Untucked, it looks strange too b/c of the foldover bump. Huh. Maybe unfold it all the way up to my bra? lol. I think maybe it's best to leave it all untucked except for a little bit tucked into the front -- does that make sense? I'm overthinking it and making it sound like I didn't like it, but I did. It was really nice and swingy, and a great length. The stripes are flattering, and I didn't see VPL because of them. Super soft, and would be also great for travel. Just noticed that it's on promo for $16 online, plus the discount. Worth that.

Stripe Dress -- Can't find this one online. I loved the navy, white, periwinkle colors, and it looked like a nice length. This was a large, all that was left. It was actually a midi-length, I'd say. I'd probably do a small or maybe medium.

Wedges, wedges, everywhere!  Lots of cute little sandals adorned one wall. I'm really loving that white/cognac Twist-front Wedge. True, they're not made of the best materials, so ON shoes tend to not last or be too stiff and uncomfortable. However, I will say that some wedge sandals I bought last year are one of the most comfy pairs of shoes I own, and still look practically brand new after wearing them all summer. Just sayin'.  ;)

  1. I like the foldover skirt on you, I was underwhelmed by it when I saw it so I didn't even bother trying it.
I did end up with the French Terry Shift in both colorways. I felt they would make good dresses for running errands and going to the playground in. You know, cute enough for public, but not so cute that I'd be upset to see them ruined.
I also grabbed the Tie-Waist Dress in the butterfly print and the Bird-Print Charmeuse Blouse.
I wanted to try the Feather-Print Drawstring Sundress, but they had none in my store. Did you happen to see them on your trip?
Between my ON visit and my recent LEC order I should be set for casual and cute spring dresses.

  2. I picked up the stripe dress a few weeks ago. I really like it but am on the fence about the length. It falls just a little too long so I may try and shorten it just a smidge. Otherwise, I love the print and cowl neck!

  3. jlc119 -- The foldover's cute, and I only grabbed it to try b/c of the pink, but didn't have very high expectations. So a nice surprise. I think the French Terry Shirt is definitely cute for running around, and no big deal if my son spills juice al over it. ;) You know I love that bird shirt! I didn't see the feather-print one at my store though to try on. You definitely sound set! :)

Pamela -- I think it's adorable and probably an easy hem, right? Fun!

  4. That striped dress is stalling. Maybe they bought too many. I'll have to try it on finally. I'll be on the lookout for that chambray dress. I looove dresses like that. Pass for me on that skirt, too. They did it in a loner length & the colors were better. But that's just my opinion cuz I can't wear pastels.

  5. gigi -- I know, they really must have. I was surprised it was still in store. It was marked to clearance at my store. I think it's worth the clearance price. That chambray dress is totally Gigi! I hope you can find it and give it a try. I don't remember the longer version of that skirt? That would have been good, although I was happy with the length of this one. I could see ON making it super mini. I didn't love any other colors but the pink. Pink and I are BFF. ;)
