It's been ages since I reviewed something at Anthro, hasn't it? I don't know, I just haven't been really wowed by too many things lately. I had some time yesterday to try on a bunch of things in person, just to see if I was wrong to discount items I was seeing online or even glancing at on the hangers.
Pieced Column Dress -- The Bailey 44 dress has been super popular in it's various incarnations (length, sleeves, colors), but I wasn't ready to try it on until I saw it in the shorter length. It looked so skintight to me, that I grabbed a medium, and that size felt very comfortable on me. I tried on a small, and it wasn't that much different really, that I could see. A bit more material in the medium? I definitely see why it's doing so well - it's just so flattering! It feels too va-va-voom for me personally during the day, but it's fab for a hot date night! This could be an option for Vegas, so it's wishlisted. I'm wearing a medium below:
Embossed Basket Dress -- I keep meaning to try this one on, and finally did, hooray! As expected, I really loved this one. I grabbed a small and a medium, b/c I noticed as it was hanging that the medium had a good inch more length to it. The small fit snug (but not too snug) in the bust area (it's stretchy). The medium still fit, just not quite at snug, and the waist fell a bit lower, along with the hemline. It also poofed a bit more at the hips I think. The color is gorgeous! And it felt sweet and pretty and uber-comfy.

Extra length on the medium:
Watercolored Gems Shift -- Ooh, I saw this one from a mile away the second I walked in. The color, the print, the shape, all gorgeous. The v-back makes it a little hotter. ;) I grabbed a size 4 and that was a good fit, so it's TTS. It's somewhat stiff, but not in a bad way, and it's fully lined. Love!
Are any of these dresses on your wishlist? Oh, and btw, love the citron and basil scent of this Illume candle! So fresh and spring-smelling to me.
And how cute are these?! Just for organizing whatever -- paper clips, rubber bands, m&ms...
Have a wonderful day!
p.s Nordstrom has 5% back on ebates right now, just in case you were going to order anything.

Those dresses all look beautiful on you! Love the shades of blue.
ReplyDeleteI haven't looked at Anthro in ages, I do love looking at their home section as well.
Have a great Sunday, I'm guessing like me you'll be watching the football?
Dani -- Thanks! I do love a pretty blue. I wasn't into a lot of Anthro this past winter, but am hopeful for spring/summer dresses. Their home section is always so fun to perfuse. Ah yes, the football. We'll be going to a party, where I'll likely be more interested in food and ads, lol.
ReplyDeleteBig fan of these column dresses- it looks gorgeous on you. I like the sleeves with this shorter length!
ReplyDeleteThe watercolor gems shift is beautiful- I hadn't really noticed it. It looks more J Crew-y actually!
I like the dots dress! I was tempted to get it but then thought that low back made it tricky for work w/o a cardi.
ReplyDeleteThe Watercolor Gems Shift is on mine. Good to know it fits tts.
ReplyDeleteThose little spice jars are so cute. What a clever idea having the chalk board on them. Thanks for the reviews.
Happy Super Bowl Sunday. I heard a newscaster mention that today's a national holiday. Surprised me, but I'm not a football fan. Just in case you are......
Just found your blog and I love it. Following now!
ReplyDeletethatdamngreendress -- Thanks, I do love the sleeves/length on this one. You're right, it does have a j.crew feel, but the v-back makes it a little more fun. :)
ReplyDeletePamela -- I agree, the v-back would be tricky for work w/o the cardi for sure.
maryeb -- It's gorgeous for sure. It was a really nice fit and felt well-constructed. Aren't those little jars the cutest? Ha, I went to a Superbowl party, but pretty much only watched some ads and Madonna. I do like football, but really only if it's a team I'm invested in (Packers!). :)
Katie -- Hooray, thanks for following and commenting! Welcome! :)
I love the dresses on you, esp. the column dress! Not vavavoom, but cool and hip! I agree the floral dress is a bit Crewzy. Great reviews, thanks for posting!
