First, I'll show you the two pairs of shoes I tried with everything, the fab purse, and the white top I paired with the skirts.
Bow Espadrilles ($89) -- Ack, so cute!! Perfect height, love the bow and the neutral colors. Unfortunately, my heels hate the elastic-y slingbacks and I knew these would hurt if I was doing anything besides posing.
Flower Bouquet Espadrilles ($108?) -- These aren't online yet. Adorable! And very comfortable. No toes showing in these, which might be nice for those of you in offices. I loved them and so wanted to take them home.
Double-Handle Satchel ($159) -- Oh how I loved this purse! The bow, the color, the size. So, so tempted, but I am full up on purses. If this ever makes it to a sale though, I'm dropping big hints for my birthday.
Dotted Swiss Shirt ($59.50) -- This is such a cute little staple! I went with a 4P and liked the fit. Doesn't dip too low, and while it was a bit sheer, I think I'm ok with it sans cami (although maybe not untucked with jeans/dark fabric. Thumbs up!
Now, for the skirts! Tuileries floral skirt ($99.00) -- I loved this skirt. I tried on a 4P, 6P and a 6, and ended up with the 6P fitting best. I didn't see much difference between the petite and reg, but I'm sure it was a bit of length. I liked where the petite hit me, as I'd wear it casually. Gorgeous print in pretty greens, browns and touches of pinks. It was a nice weight without being too heavy. I think $99 is reasonable for this piece. There was a pretty cardigan with the same print and some beading that I didn't try.
Yellow/Cream tweed pencil skirt (not online yet) (ack, I didn't take a pic of the tag, but it was around the $120 mark I believe) -- Love the yellow! Tinge of green to it, but not too much. Since it's a tweed, might be too much for me in summer. Another win. This was a 4P (they didn't have a 6/6p to try).
Poplin Full Skirt ($79) -- So pretty and ladylike! Definitely a longer length, which didn't feel at all awkward or dowdy to me. I tried the Geranium in a 6P. It was too big, so the 4 would have been my pick. (So this runs big, as 6/6p seems to be my size in their skirts.) The color was lovely. It felt swishy and not too full. Pockets, yay! The only con of this skirt is that it's a lighter poplin, and will wrinkle pretty easily. Because I'm in and out of cars all the live-long day, this might be a no-go for me. Maybe if it made it to a sale. Love the geranium, which is one of the big colors this season obviously, and one of my favorite shades of pink.
Daisy Lace Pencil Skirt ($128) -- I'm repeating myself over and over, but SO pretty! Wonderful quality, doesn't feel like it's going to fall apart or snag immediately. I once again grabbed the geranium color in a 6P, and loved it. (The lining is a light pink, not cream like you might think.) I also tried the cream, but have a cream lace skirt, so it's out. Great neutral though! Easy to dress this skirt up and down. I could easily throw on a white tee and some sandals and feel cute and pulled together.
Sadness that they were sold out of the Champs-elysees skirt, which looks so fun.
Next, I tried on the Bardot Dress ($159) -- I tried the 4P, all that was left. It's super cute IMO. I felt like twirling around and around. The sales assistant gave me a belt, saying it looks better belted, and I think she's right. It's a bit big in the shoulders on me, but not terribly so. It has bra strap snaps, which I love. It's a pass for me, b/c I don't have enough opportunity to wear it, but it's lovely.
Rosette Tiered Dress ($128) -- The blue seems to be sold out online. I didn't love this on me, but it's still a pretty fabric and might work on someone else. I think I just don't like the ruffle thing across the bust. It felt a bit fuddy-duddy on me.
Jackie Fit Daisy Lace Jacket ($189) -- Once again, super cute. Lovely detail and quality. boxy fit, and a bit more cropped thank I expected, although I had a 4P instead of a regular size. Too pricey for me for something I wouldn't be able to wear much.
Grace Fit Ruffle V-Jacket ($69.99 sale) -- I tried on the pink sand in a 2P (all they had left in the smaller sizes). Once again, loved it! It's not cuckoo ruffly, just sweet and pretty. I loved it over the dotted swiss shirt, which has the same ruffled neckline. I thought it fit ok, but would prefer a 4.
Oh, and can I show you two of these skirts with the crazy adorable Lucky Brand Paloma Embroidered top I picked up at Nordstrom? Hello cute.
Overall, I was so happy with everything I saw for spring. What do you think? Have you been to see any of the Talbot's new arrivals yet?
