j.crew 20% off all sweaters.

Ok, well, no, it's not an awesome deal like the 30% off from a few weeks ago, but if you missed out on that one, here's your chance to get some newer sweaters with a 20% off discount. Alas, no free shipping, which kind of kills it for me online.  Thank you to a reader that pointed out we can use code YQC83N for free shipping on $100+!  These are the sweaters I'm eyeing:

Dream Zip Henley ($78.40) -- In the heirloom pink color.

Dream Open-Shawl-Collar Cardigan (navy and heather espresso are $70 and warm stone and pewter are $94.90) -- Rats b/c I like the warm stone the best, but also like the $70 ones.  These first two picks are similar -- which would you choose?

Cambridge cable shawl-collar cardigan (most are $70.40, gray is $60). Love the heather nordic blue for a pop of color.

Arrow Sweater Jacket (black is $80, the others -- caramel!! -- are $110) -- Gah, one of these days I'll get you, heather caramel. Pics of me in heather elm and black.

Alexie is down to $55.60! Not a bad price for some pretty colors, like this plum orchid.

Dream Turtleneck Sweater is only $54.40 -- I might have to cave and get one at this price. They're the perfect item to throw on with a pencil skirt and be completely pulled together (and comfy/cozy).

Infinity Cardigan ($40, $60 and $71.50) -- These are definitely hit or miss on people, depending on their height I think. They are longggggg. Perfect though over those pants (or leggings) that you need a rear cover. I love my black pine -- here's a pic.

Plaid Boyfriend Cardigan ($60) -- I love this sweater! I've been wearing it under the Marled Thandie Blazer and love it! Like the Arrow sweater, one of the better quality pieces J.Crew has had this fall. IRL pics.

If you don't want to do their cashmere, the Dream V-Neck Cardigan is $62.40 or less in all colors.

Jackie Cardigans in new colors are $49.50, and are a classic. I'd love to get the Henna color -- has anyone seen in person?

A number of the cashmere sweaters are at the $100 price point -- turtleneck, Cody, zip cardi, crewneck cardi, etc. I like to get their cashmere for a bit less, but this isn't too ridiculous for a special color you love or for a staple you'll wear a ton.

Anyone going to bite? I can't get to the store until tomorrow, so we'll see.

  1. I am loving the infinity cardigan right now and am planning on adding a few more colors of it to my wardrobe. They look great paired with some of Anthro's funky sleeveless tops (to add a bit of edge to my standard skinny jeans, boots and cardi fall/winter uniform)and they are so cozy. The dark raisin and black pine are wonderful alternatives to black which I tend to wear quite a bit of this time 'o year. You have peaked my interest in the plaid boyfriend sweater. It seems like it could really "sing" when layered over and under something with a pop of color...

  2. Love the blog! The no-free shipping will kill it for me...plus I'm still waiting on my 30%/FS promo items to get here. The jackie in henna looks great - although I'm questionable on the henna colour until someone has seen it in stores. It looks way more red in the sweaters, but the other "henna" items this year are very brown.

Question for you from an old post - I saw you had bought a few LE jackets. I assume you are taking an XS in these but what is your take on sizing? I am a J crew 8, debating a S in a couple LE coats.

  3. Anon -- Yes, love those as an alternative to black!! Great idea to pair with Anthro sleeveless tops -- I have a bunch of those to work with. Agree, the plaid cardi is begging for a pop of color!

cardiganista -- Thanks for visiting! Agree, the no free ship kills any online ordering b/c it's basically a wash. Annoying! Yes, I'm dying to see Henna in person. (I'm also interested in the wool bell skirt in this color possibly). As for LE sizing, you're taking regular LE right? Reg LE coats do run on the bigger side, so I'd say you should go with a small if you're wearing an 8. (Worst case, they have an amazing return/exchange policy) Hope that helps!

  4. 20% off is not a smoking hot deal but it's still better than FP :). Alexis has posted a free ship code on the JCA blog, so if you're tempted to pick up any of the pretties, that may help you out a bit. Although I looooove the cashmere colours, I am SWORN to never buy another JC sweater unless it's stupid cheap. All mine from last Fall/Winter are a pilly mess. So not worth the money. I may give LEC a try as they have a few pretty colours as well, and priced a bit more reasonably.

  5. I want to get the Dream Open-Shawl-Collar cardigan in expresso and the Jackie in nightfall blue but like you said the no free shopping is a deal breaker. The henna color in the Jackie looks really red online and like you I'm also wanting the wool bell skirt in the henna and the saddle color. I already have it in the olive and love the fit.

  6. I am loving the Cambridge shawl-collar, but 20% isn't amazing and it's dream yarn. Although I have a few Cambridge sweaters that have held up well, either because they are older or because the cabling doesn't show pilling as much...

  7. The Dream Zip Cardi (pics on my blog) is sold out in XS in the pink colour, so boo!

But I did get the Rimini cardi which was on sale already.
