They are just so fall-y. And comfy and cozy and adorable. I was checking out a few that Old Navy just added to their line-up, and went today to check them out in person. Some looked kinda cheapy, but I ended up picking up the Oatmeal Marled turtleneck dress -- super cute, on sale for $25 (showing full price online). Plus, I had a $20 rewards card. So, for $5 + tax, I got a great little outfit. Perfect for Thanksgiving, methinks. Add some tights and boots, maybe a wide belt (they had a cute suede one on clearance for about $6.50), done.

It's not even Halloween, and I have most of my holiday shopping done.
This should really make me ecstatic, but I'm a little disappointed that I really don't have much to buy once all the holiday hoopla begins. I fear that I will continue buying things for gifts and will have enough gifts for the next 2 years in stock. It's mostly all stuff for my little monkey, who was 21 months old yesterday. He's going to have a lot of stuff to open, come Christmas. Which is silly, as he won't even get it, and will only want to play with boxes and wrapping paper, and eat cookies.
Here is the list of stuff I've already gotten him. And to make it not seem super crazy, it's for both Christmas and for his 2nd bday, which is in January. I got all of them during the insane Kmart and Target toy clearances in July/August, and I've spent probably $200 total on all of it.
Christmas gifts.
Fisher Price vacuum, Fisher Price bubble mower, Jumpstart World Grow Smart Learning ABCs tablet, Hanny Manny 2-in-1 Power Tool, Playdoh Barnyard Pals, Big Tonka truck, Computer keyboard, Learn Your Number phone Fisher Price, mini basketball, about 20 books (from Target's dollar spot), 2 puzzles, Thomas Aquadoodle (from Craigslist), Thomas Laptop, Little Einsteins Egypt Mission playset, Crayola Colorfall Sudsworks, Bus with ABCs, Little Einsteins Leo's Music Baton, Little People Baby Animals Stable, Little People Baby Animals Nest, Thomas WhizKid V-Tech Book, Elmo Live, Play with me Elmo baby, Mini Ming-Ming, Grab ball, Puppet theater, WonderPets Snowglobe, Megabloks piano, Elmo Potty (Almost everything was from the Kmart clearance bonanza, except the Elmo stuff, which were found at Target)
Birthday gifts.
Leapfrog Tag Jr. (Toys R Us using multiple Leapfrog/TRU coupons), Tag Jr. books (on sale, plus LF Qs), Play-doh Creativity Center (Kmart), Elmo kitchen (Kmart clearance), Thomas beginners set (kids.woot.com), Mr. PotatoHead (there are a bunch of Hasbro coupons out there right now and Mr. PH is on sale at Walmart & Target right now).
Yes, I'm nuts.
Ok, now that I've written all of that out...I totally sound nuts and bought way too much for a kid that won't really care. Eh, it makes me happy. And will hopefully make my monkey happy.
What will happen (ok, this is my best intention) is that I'll give him them all to open, then will probably hide away half of them, bringing them out at opportune moments. Like when he won't put on pants and friends are ringing the doorbell. I have this image in my head of a fantabulous Closet of Wonders that will be full of toys and crafts and Things to Do. How will I hide this though? Will I ever be up for crafts? And will he just prefer to play with toilet paper rolls and price tags I've clipped from his clothes?
